What it Takes

Regularly I stumble upon photography evangelists repeating over and over again a false mantra, saying that equipment doesn’t matter. I’m sure that it really doesn’t matter what type of gear you are using, but in a way it is similar as saying that money doesn’t matter … As long as you have it.

It is reasonable to expect, from skilled masters of the craft, ability to easily compensate for potential inadequacies of equipment. On the flip side, some mediocre shooters might be propelled a step forward by the payed for artificial intelligence of their latest toy. To easily understand relationship between the craftsman and his tools, we can simply visualize this as a combination of a vehicle and a driver—one can be better than the other.

Vengeance of Anteros

Greek god Anteros, the avenger of unrequited love, is doing his thing since 1893 on top of the Shaftesbury Memorial fountain, now placed on the side of the always crowded Piccadilly Circus in London’s West End, a part of the Westminster City.

Predjama Castle

Predjama Castle

A picturesque Predjama Castle (slov.:Predjamski Grad) is built high in the stone wall under a natural overhanging arch. It was a fortress difficult to reach and conquer. Castle sieges could last a very long time, thanks to the existence of a secret supply tunnel, linking the castle with the Postojna Cave system.

The White Tower

The Tower of London

Boat on a river Thames is passing the Tower of London, with the most recognizable view of the 11th century built White Tower, once a symbol of oppression. The Tower of London is now a protected World Heritage Site and also the home of the Crown Jewels of the United Kingdom.
